Ian HuntI feel like I am experiencing 'climate' as 'weather' this year. The cold temperatures & rain mask the disastrous changes underway globally. Prevented by family duties from doing much, I am glad at least to see signs of insect life (here some very neat work by one of the 7 leafcutter bees in UK -- family #Megachilidae), even though relatively few insects are about, or the creatures that specifically depend on them (noticeably fewer swifts here). #London #insects #extinction #ClimateDiary

one of today's highlights was finding a patch of lamb's ear full of rather docile wool carder bees who let me get close enough for photos!
these bees get their name from their behaviour of scraping fluff for their nests from fuzzy plants like this. they are very cute.
