I like the #MarvelMultiverseRPG overall, but given how some of the most important rules and updates or errata are in later books, it does sometimes feel like “Game Sold Separately”. XD

That, and, a lot of the rules are buried in weird places: the number of spaces on the map characters of different size take isn’t in general combat or character creation rules, for instance, it’s buried in the text of the growth/shrink power. The SpiderVerse supplement has rules for villains to use Karma (basically), but it’s called “Villainous Plots” for no particular reason, and so on.

I’m guessing this is a result of one guy writing almost everything, rather than there being a design team. Just like the powers are written to address a specific character (all swinging on lines or catching people in snares are Spider-Powers frex), the books are written in an ad hoc way, with what should be foundational blocks left unaddressed until there’s a specific need.

I mean, see also AD&D, I guess, but this is a game that’s barely more than a year old, and it could badly use a Second Edition already. >.>
