And Then There Were None (1945 film) - Wikipedia

Louis Hayward oozes malevolence as a writer with a dark secret in Fritz Lang’s House By The River (1950).

Film critic Tom Vick praised the film, writing, “Lang beautifully evokes the Victorian era with his customary attention to detail.”

The Pirates of Capri (1949) is an Edgar G. Ulmer swashbuckling pirate romantic adventure shot in Italy, with Louis Hayward playing a variation on Zorro. Not what you expect from Ulmer but it's energetic and fun. And he had a decent budget.

The 1950 #movie #HouseByTheRiver is a gothic-ish noir drama that is pretty much under the radar, but is super solidly directed by #FritzLang. Some frames are #expressionism and #noir aesthetics at their best. #LouisHayward performs like a maniac as a man who tries to pin the blame for a murder on his brother. - #CineMastodon #FilmMastodon

James Whale's The Man in the Iron Mask (1939), based (loosely) on the final instalment of Alexander Dumas’ tales of the Three Musketeers.

Visually impressive and worth seeing for some bravura acting, especially Louis Hayward’s extraordinary performances. Joan Bennett is good as well. Entertaining.
