Karten-Apps: Von "Datenschleudern" und "Funktionsmonstern" für #Fahrrad und #Fußwege #Wandern wurden v.a. #OrganicMaps @organicmaps oder für mehr Funktionen #OsmAnd in Kombination mit #BRouter empfohlen.

In einer kleinen Umfrage haben wir gefragt, welche Karten-App Ihr nutzt und vor allem: Warum? Was zeichnet die verschiedenen Apps aus und welche Apps können für verschiedene individuelle Anforderungen empfehlenswert sein?

One contradiction: Please ditch #GoogleMaps for outdoor navigation. Why? You'd want a tool that:
- Has *actual* outdoor maps showing terrain, cliffs, tiny paths, etc.
- Is built offline first (mapping, navigation)
- Can store/display your routes, points of interest, etc.
- Can work reliably in airplane mode
My recommendation?

Finde ich ZUM PLANEN nicht so gut. Ist sehr gut, wenn man fertige Routen anderer sucht.
Zum planen eigener Routen nehme ich eher #BRouter #BikeRouter. Also das, was auch #LocusMaps verwendet.
Aber es geht mir explizit um die Karten und das Routing von Swisstopo.

#Brouter ist ne coole Sache. Was das routing angeht gut anpassbar (bzw. mit reichlich Voreinstellungen versehen) und lässt sich in mehreren Apps einbinden, z.B. #OruxMaps, #osmand, #LocusMaps ...

MapAm💜reWe ran an informal poll of #OpenStreetMap people on several #Telegram channels to determine their **primary** navigation/mapping app that consumes OSM data. It's very likely that some people are using multiple apps, but the poll only asked them to choose one.
Impossible to mention all apps that but the popular apps were:
* OsmAnd 58% - both official and the #FDroid version
* Maps.Me 35% - including the fork on #FDroid called "Maps"
and a sprinkling of votes for #MagicEarth, #Mapy #LocusMaps
