In #Bruxelles I know of something similar, a page called "Bruxelles brûle t-il". Curious to learn about more pages like these.
Shotgun SeamstressLast night, I went to a show and was introduced to a dude named Dave who apparently was one of the singers for Assück. I don’t like that style of punk but it’s a band you just recognize from back patches and butt flaps, y’know what I mean. He also claimed to have started X Jud Jud X which was much more impressive to me, but like wth man 😂 Things have been getting interesting around here. #Florida #punk #grindcore #straightedge #jokeband #localscene #lol
Well, well, well. We went to a random house show last night not recognizing any of the bands on the flyer. Ended up watching a band called No Fraud who easily surpassed my low expectations by playing really good classic #80shardcore/thrash. They were all older except for the bass player. Turns out they’re an original 80s hc band that never broke up—from Venice, #Florida of all places. The bass player died so there’s this young kid playing for them now.
After moving all around the country, I feel that I can safely say there’s a band like this in every region. In New Orleans it was Disappointed Parents. Both No Fraud and DP still cite the #MRR reviews they got back in the day. The singer from DP told me more than once with obvious pride that Tim Yo referred to their first 7” as “a minor classic.” 😂 #punk #hardcore #LocalScene
Spotted at the local record shop: “Music” magazine from 1987, #TampaBayArea. On the cover are musicians of local alternative bands featured on a compilation record that had just come out that year. Features articles about both local and national bands, record reviews, ads for local music shops, etc.
