I decided to not toot the last A’s homestand (#SellTheTeam) because I didn’t want to hurt.

Didn’t work.

The A’s will play for the next 3–4 years within walking distance of my home. I don’t plan to attend any games. First, I don’t want Fisher to have a dime of my money. Second, the Coliseum might be a dreary old dungeon (it is), but it sure beats the River Cats stadium. And third …

I’m not sure how to articulate just how angry I am at Vivek Ranadive, the owner of the River Cats. He seemingly moved heaven and earth to keep the Kings in Sacramento, and then he gleefully helped Fisher yeet the A’s out of Oakland. And for what? He’s not going to get to buy the team. He’s not going to get his own MLB franchise. He’s ultimately merely Fisher’s toady in all this.

Any of all.

Fuck John Fisher.
Fuck Rob Manfred.
Fuck Vivek Ranadive.

Fuck man, the A's.

I wasn't around for a lot of the glory days, but even over the last decade and change I've been keeping up they have fielded some FUN teams. Ownership is trash ofc and the Coliseum is a lovable dump, but I'm grateful for all of the good times I had there growing up. I was always so excited to tell people that my great uncle factored in on those amazing teams in the late 80s, and it was awesome to go catch a game for like sub 20 dollars after work back when my office was located in Oakland.

The town and the fans deserve so much better than this. I know this isn't the final chapter for baseball in Oakland.
