Tonight I attended this class on #WorkerOwned #Cooperatives here's a photo of the whiteboard where everyone put up their thoughts on cooperatives, why we're focused on building them, and what we want from them.

Today we discussed Finance everything from CDFI’s, credit unions, Bank of North Dakota, Class A & B Stock, Seed commons, and a bunch of stuff in-between.

Fund for Labor Culture & History :: Henning Scholarship

The Fund for Labor Culture & History is a non-profit organization related to labor education of the general public, concerning the history, theory and current activities of organized labor and all working people in America.

I have a @sociology #research question (maybe for those also in #LaborStudies):

Many studies have shown the positive economic (also political & social) benefit that #unions (across countries & union types) have had for their members.

But, has research focused on whether the density of union membership in particular areas/locales improves economic conditions for ALL workers (regardless of union membership), or upon inequality/Gini? Perhaps somehow influencing prevailing wages?

Hi there! I never formally introduced myself here. I’m a media studies + feminist STS scholar who writes about the mortality and afterlives of people and technologies. Most of my work focuses on histories and cultures of platform labor and user/worker resistance to Big Tech. I live in Oakland and work for a tech company, where I research green software and open source communities #introductions #twittermigration #criticaltech #mediastudies #STS #academic #platforms #deathstudies #laborstudies
Here comes my #introduction :D
Not really a part of the #twittermigration as I consumed content only passively over there. But #mastodon seems like the perfect place to get started and I want to get active here :)
I am a master’s student of #LaborStudies and #SocialPolicy in #bremen and #milan who is heavily interested in #ComputationalSocialScience #statistics and #code in general. Here for #rstats #dataviz #tidytuesday #politicalscience #CSS #ML #NLP and probably more ;D
