Southern Finland is set to experience a strengthening high-pressure system bringing clear skies and warming temperatures, with daytime highs reaching up to 15°C by the end of the week. But this mild spell will be followed by much colder nights.

Foreca forecasts a strengthening high-pressure system will bring clear skies from Wednesday. By week’s end, temperatures could reach 10-15°C in southern/central regions and around 10°C in Lapland. Next week, high pressure brings clear days but much colder nights. Lows could hit -10°C from Wednesday, even in the south. Daytime highs: 4-10°C south/central, 0-8°C north. Dry conditions expected nationwide for two weeks.

So far this year the highest recorded temperature is 12.6°C, measured on March 22 in Heinola, southern Finland. The Finnish Meteorological Institute reports that last March was Finland’s warmest on record.
