View from campsite in his LinkedIn Profile. I'm pretty sure this is somewhere between Ryan Campground and the Hall of Horros Area in Joshua Tree National Park. Unfortunately, Joshua Tree currently unpatrolled.
*** I don't know the facts of this case or this individual, but "critical missing" tends to be people in mental crisis. The guy appears to be a former Deputy Forester. His LinkedIn profile shows what I expect is his favorite campsite... Joshua Tree National Park. My gut is he's in Joshua Tree or similar, hopefully just cooling off and regaining mental health. Maybe somewhere in the Angeles National Forest. I'd check his favorite campsites and end of the road areas all through the Angeles National Forest. Folks in crisis tend to go to places they know and have previously brought them peace.
