The tension built in It Follows is the kind you feel reflected in your suddenly noticeable heart beat, in the hairs raised on the back of your neck, and that tenseness is kept up as solidly as this monster keeps coming for Jay, our protagonist. I'd give The Hunt just a 2 star rating if it wasn't for the redeeming factor of a captivating performance by Betty Gilpin! She absolutely elevated this movie from the mediocre, uninsightful attempt at satire it is, to something fairly fun to watch. Did US politics really kill satire?
