🍕🌭 Ode to Food 🍕🌭
by Crissy Bliss Addams
Oh slice of New York, crisp and wide,
A fold in the hand, a city’s pride.
Your crust holds stories of streets and flame,
Each bite a legend, no two the same.
Cheese that stretches, sauce that sings,
A chorus of flavor on humble wings.
You are the anthem of hurried feet,
A portable joy, so simple, so sweet.
And Chicago dog, bold and bright,
A carnival feast in every bite.
Relish and peppers, tomato’s hue,
A pickle spear standing proud and true.
Celery salt whispers, mustard’s cheer,
A garden of taste that draws us near.
Together you shine, both fierce, both grand,
Icons of flavor across the land.
Author’s Note in Verse
I love NY pizza, thin and true,
Pepperoni’s fire, a foldable view.
And Chicago dogs, a garden’s delight,
A salad on a bun, hotdog kept light.
