Other primates have opposable thumbs. Other mammals have large brains. Other animals use tools.
I'm really inclined to believe that the only thing that really sets us apart is luck and timing—right place, right time.
I was a full grown adult before I finally noticed what a large percentage of the food people eat is grass. I'm Ok with that. In fact, I think it's pretty cool.

Technology needs a technical constraint. But first and foremost, it needs a social guardrail that people agree on with each other and, obviously, institutionalised ways like laws and regulations.
