This isn't good enough. I used to blame Peter Murrell for holding back the talented people within the #SNP, but he's gone, and showing talent (unless you're on the right wing of the party, like #KateForbes) is still the surest way to get demotion or deselection.

I admire Kate Forbes and this is a good assessment of her position on Planet Harvie and Greer.
They both appear to have made this personal as opposed to a political attack and this leads to believe that they feel under threat from a capable and mature politician and woman.
We need positive leadership in the SNP and Kate with make a real contribution towards it.

I got an email message from the Scottish Greens three days ago saying that the party’s MSPs had voted against the appointment of Kate Forbes as the new Deputy First Minister
Thank goodness, I thought – she would have been a terrible choice!
Except she *has* become Deputy FM, as I’ve just discovered 😳
In promoting a religious fundamentalist – with anti-abortion and anti-LGBTQIA+ views – to this position, the SNP has signalled its willingness to move still further from the arguably progressive-leaning party that Nicola Sturgeon led during her tenure as First Minister
