"In a rehearsal space where ancient #Hebrew #prayers collide with boom-bap #beats and #Talmudic debate flows like a #freestyle #cipher, the #nonprofit #Rappers & #Rabbis is trying to answer an unlikely question: What happens when #Jewish tradition meets #hiphop culture not as a gimmick, but as a shared language? Founded by educator and performer #MattBar, the collective remixes #prayers, texts, and #rituals through #rap, arguing that both #Judaism and hip-hop are built on rhythm, interpretation, memory, and the sacred power of words.

#Rappers&Rabbis is not trying to make Judaism “cool.” Instead, the nonprofit collective is making the case that #Jewishtradition and #hiphopculture have always spoken a surprisingly similar language.

For #Bar, the project is not novelty or parody, but part of a much older Jewish tradition of adaptation and reinterpretation."

At the Passover Seder, we begin with Ma Nishtana — the Four Questions:
“Why is this night different from all other nights?”

It’s usually sung by the youngest at the table, and it opens the door to telling the story of Passover.

But it’s more than a tradition…
It’s how we learn. In Jewish culture and in Hebrew we grow by asking questions.

And the best part? This is one of the easiest and most meaningful ways to start learning Hebrew. Through rhythm, repetition, and real connection. 🎶

👉 I’ll link my video below so you can learn to sing it too!

Yom Kippur transcends labels—religious or not. It invites us to pause, reflect, and step back from life’s busyness, reconnecting with tradition and ourselves. It’s a day to confront the truth: we all make mistakes and fall short, but Yom Kippur is about healing, not judgment.

This day offers a rare chance to ask, “Where have I missed the mark?” and “What can I do differently?” It’s about forgiveness and growth, reminding us that life is not static. Whether you fast or reflect quietly, Yom Kippur helps us let go, realign, and step into the new year with open hearts.

The Hebrew month of Tammuz, which began yesterday, is a significant period in the Jewish calendar, rich with historical and spiritual meaning.

Tammuz often carries connotations of reflection, introspection, and preparation for the deeper spiritual journeys ahead in the later months.

One of the most notable events associated with Tammuz is the fast of the 17th of Tammuz, which commemorates the breaching of the walls of Jerusalem before the destruction of the Second Temple.

This fast marks the beginning of a three-week mourning period leading up to Tisha B'Av.
During Tammuz, many observant Jews begin to adopt certain mourning practices leading up to Tisha B'Av. These can include refraining from celebrations, limiting joyous activities, and engaging in additional study and prayer, particularly focused on the themes of the period.

May this Tammuz bring everyone back home safely to their loved ones 💙🤍

Today marks the first day of the Hebrew month of Tevet, and I'm excited to share some insights about this special time on our Jewish calendar.

Tevet, or טבת in Hebrew, pronounced /te-'vet/ is the 10th month according to biblical tradition and the 4th according to the tradition of our sages.

In the fixed Hebrew calendar, Tevet spans 29 days and can start on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, or Friday
