Most people think there's one way to say mother in Hebrew.
There are two. And the difference is what I want you to understand and apply. 🇮🇱

Some words stay with us forever.
The little names our mothers called us. The phrases whispered when we were hurt, tired, loved, celebrated, or simply held close. Terms of endearment become more than words, they become memories, comfort, and a bridge back to the bond between parent and child.
In this video, I’m sharing some of my favorite affectionate expressions used by Israeli mothers with their children. While these words come from Hebrew and Israeli culture, the feeling behind them is universal ❤️ No matter where we come from, love often sounds remarkably similar.

What if you could understand Israel not through headlines but through Hebrew words?
Every year, Israelis vote for their “Word of the Year,” and this year’s list tells an unforgettable story of trauma, hope, resilience, innovation, survival, and coming home.
In this new article, I break down all 10 words, their meanings, pronunciations, and the deeper story they reveal about modern Hebrew and Israeli life today.
If you love Hebrew, Israel, language, culture, or understanding people through the words they choose. I think you’ll really love this one.
Go read it on Substack and tell me: what would YOUR word of the year be?

There's a reason. And it changes how you see Israeli culture entirely. 🇮🇱

Today we celebrate you in any language, in every language but especially in the most ancient and beautiful one of all.
Mother is one of the oldest most tender words in the Hebrew language. Short. Powerful. Irreplaceable. Just like every mother.
To every mother in this community whether you are learning Hebrew for your children, your faith, your heritage, or simply for yourself, you are seen, celebrated, and loved. 🌹
To every student who has a mother who believed in your journey today is a beautiful day to say thank you. Maybe even in Hebrew. 😊🌸
