More evidence that victims (here of the infected blood scandal) are treated as a nuisance by our political classes.

As I and other have pointed out before (see Post Office scandal for instance), normal people are seldom accorded the respect & concern that seems just when the institutions of the state have screwed them over.

Again, as I have said before, look at how the state treats the vulnerable to see how they'd like to treat us all....

How soft has the UK been over the years on the regulation of global corporations?

The infected blood scandal is a key example of why global corporations like working in Britain... one word: impunity!

Elsewhere, the suppliers of blood plasma have been held to account & paid damages to victims (in many cases some time ago).... in the UK, not so much.

As always, the victims' interests have been well down the list of who matters!

As we prepare for the final report of the Infected Blood Inquiry to be published today, the big Q. is how much longer will it take to offer formalised compensation payments instead of the ex-gratia payments that have been through a range of means.

What will also be interesting is whether any corporate manslaughter investigations & potential prosecutions emerge from the reports findings & evidence.

For the victims, of course, this has taken way too long!

Why would a Govt. delay (further) a £10bn-£20bn compensation payout in the #infectedblood scandal?

Well, victims & their representatives suspect #JeremyHunt has his eyes on that money to allow him the fiscal 'headroom' to offer #taxcuts in March.

While no agreement has been finalised the liability remains unrealised & out of the public accounts....

Could he be so callous, I hear you ask... a Q. that has a very easy answer...
