One of my favorite tools in I Write Like is Read Aloud.
I need this tool the way singers need those in-ear monitors. You have to hear your own voice. You can't get this type of feedback unless you have a special tool. It's like getting an extra sensor that helps you shape your work.

I Write Like Apr 9

I Write Like has become my thinking space. I use it for any piece of text that comes to mind. I've read about authors using particular pens, notepads and settings to write, and could never relate to that. Once a thought came, I would just need to get it out, regardless of the medium. I think with time my brain developed a strong connection between looking at the IWL layout and writing. Now, whenever I see IWL, I form my thoughts faster.

I was asked how I Write Like differs from other markdown text editors. Here's the info in case you are also interested:
- IWL opens in the browser and doesn't need signing in: just navigate and type (no accounts at all).
- It has lots of tools for text analysis and transforms.
- Its typewriter mode is better than the rest.
- You can import and export Word documents.
