In addition to the packs controlling an actual fan/airflow, i got the dome light switch controlling the actual closet light last night and it is incredibly satisfying
yeah so i hooked the up the flight sim overhead panel’s pack and bleed switches via home assistant webhook so they have to be in an appropriate position to deliver air, which actually then starts up my actual tower fan at the appropriate speed % (depending on combo of auto/high and 1/2/apu bleeds)
gonna do the dome light tomorrow
sorry girls who turned me down in high school, guess you just weren’t longed for the man who can accurately simulate pleasing airflow while sat in his closet
this weekend i 3d printed an exact scale trim wheel, it powers a rotary encoder connected to the arduino that is connected to the sim
next thing im going to try is bridging the dome light switch to the room lights and the pack switches to a large tower fan i have employed to keep all this stuff cool
kneeboard light and screen controls for the 737 are finished and wired in, all work nicely - gotta figure out a good way to mount it and also tidy up the many many wires
3d printer + wire + 7x rotary encoder + arduino
the sim is coming along, next on the agenda is 3d printing the knee panel that controls brightness
i kinda wanna hook that into the actual room lighting too
3D printed a quick and dirty AFDS panel, as its really the last set of buttons i need in the sim never to have to use the mouse.
don’t have the patience or equipment to backlight the text properly on this one so i just used colored filament
the three buttons are functional
these are ready to go in now.
caution and fire recall buttons, they light up when the caution/fire condition is present and can be pushed to be reset
