Today is World Heart Day. Donโ€™t miss a beat: your heart needs regular care. Cardiovascular disease causes about 31% of global deaths, and many of these are preventable. Take one action now โ€” check your blood pressure, move for 30 minutes, or book a heart screening. Know the warning signs (chest pain, sudden breathlessness, sudden weakness or slurred speech) and seek emergency help immediately.

Living between two homes isnโ€™t a one-woman showโ€”it takes prayer, priorities, and a checklist that keeps my heart in the right place. This isnโ€™t about flauntingโ€”itโ€™s about function. And the first thing on the list? A good old-fashioned heart check. ๐Ÿ’›

The Heart Check List | Balancing Two Homes, Faith, and the Noise of Life

Living between two homes takes more than logisticsโ€”it takes a heart anchored in Jesus. Hereโ€™s how I keep my priorities straight, my spirit aligned, and my life moving with grace.

A journey through wonder & the Word

Rudolf Ewald Stier, Lutheran pastor, considers Lazarus + Ecclesiasticus: โ€œdo good to a friend before thou dieโ€. The rich manโ€™s guilt is shown that Lazarus lay there.

Stier does not ask how whether the rich man gave more than heathens, or if Lazarus were of high character. Stier draws guilt at the existence of unaided misery before oneโ€™s eyes.

How can you consider the misery and end of man?

Arthur Hildersham, Puritan minister, writes on Psalm 51: hearts made more like Godโ€™s are interested in charity. One has to โ€œviolently restrainโ€ oneโ€™s heart not to respond to cries for help.

Would some today teach opposite of the Puritans: that a heart made like Godโ€™s would be less distracted by temporal cries around him, have more hours to spend on devotions each morning?

How can you act on tugs of a heart made more like Godโ€™s?
