32 minute walk to get 8000 steps in. (Yahoo!) I was in front of 2 men- I think a father & son. I walked fast. Lol. If I'm being honest, I was really uncomfortable. I'm distrustful of strangers behind me when I'm alone. Breezy but sunny out, a chilly 37Β°f winter day. I'll take it! I wore a hood designed for wind so I was warm.
Anyways, also got upper and lower body weight training done. 59 #fitbit zone minutes for the day. Not bad for being hungover.
Imagine how we could catalyze a paradigm shift if Top 40 pop songs would normalize therapy.
Seriously.
I posted this yesterday:
"You are not your pain but your mind replays the pain constantly, you relive the pain emotionally on a regular basis, and you live from the pain via your behavior daily.
Somewhere along the way you became the pain. You did it unknowingly and unconsciously. You were protecting yourself and thatβs why you did it. That lie is now the thing that keeps you stuck."
You know that thing on replay in your head? Yep that's making you replay the pain. Whatever it is you've got spinning around up there is causing you pain right now.
You feel the emotions behind your thoughts all the time. So if whatever is spinning around in your head is a problem or painful, you'll feel that. There's the emotional re-living.
If the thing that you're replaying in your head is triggering some old wound then how you react to that is a habit at this point. You do it all the time when this thing happens. Your behavior is now helping to keep you stuck. Your mind validates that by suggesting that if you change your behavior bad things are going to happen.
It's also possible that simply allowing your mind to spin things around freely like that is the behavior that's keeping you stuck. The only job that you have is to shut that down and not allow the brain to do that to you.
How will you know the difference?
You're going to have to ask yourself to find out. Only you have access to that truth.
You don't have to live like this. You can learn to get the mind under some control so it doesn't stay on the spin cycle.
By learning to control the mind it helps to manage the emotions because now your thoughts are no longer triggering random emotions for you to deal with.
Eventually, when you start shifting your behavior after your mind and emotions are under some sort of control, you'll begin to see that those things you were afraid of changing weren't that scary after all.
