My main server now has two #Toshiba hard drives. I have no idea why they are so unpopular in the #selfhosting community when they are cheap, quiet, and reliable. I suppose #WD and #Seagate have good marketing departments.

Thinking about getting a hard drive dedicated for the purpose of off-site backup, encrypting it, and then opening a safety deposit box at the bank and keeping it there except to update said backup. Thoughts? I'm on NixOS, if that matters.
