@EUCommission #Recycling should have a back seat to #REUSE.

My Brussels municipality is actually an obstacle to reuse. They ban people dumping e-waste on the street -- which blocks neighbors from salvaging stuff. Then the e-waste goes to a protectionist corporation (“Recupel”) who repairs very little, and wastefully /recycles/ the materials. I have a dozen broken appliances I cannot get parts for b/c I am blocked. And the local parts dealer never has the parts I need.

There is not a single junk yard in #Brussels. Effectively, no #rightToRepair

Do better. Please.

Bei mir stapeln sich die Pfandflaschen. Kein Bock, die zum Discounter zu schleppen. Ich denke, ich schmeiß die einfach weg. Die Umwelt? Die geht eh den Bach runter. Wie alles andere. Aber keine Sorge, die kommt wieder auf die Beine. Der Mensch hoffentlich nicht!

Made some staging for my potting shed. All the wood came out of skips. The only cost was £3.29 for the screws. The red wood preservative I already had, probably used about 50 pence worth. Im letzten Jahr hatte ich mir Handkarden gekauft, um aus der Wolle alter Strickpullover neue Wolle spinnen zu können.
Durch das Maus-Video weiß ich jetzt, warum es nicht ging: die Fasern sind zu kurz.
Vielleicht probiere ich es noch einmal und mische die alte Wolle mit neuer. 🤔
