Lots to disagree about with Mitch McConnell (I agree with Prof. Emeritus Christopher Browning's characterization of him as the "gravedigger of American democracy*), including his hard power only approach to foreign policy. He is correct in the premise that the US should not retreat from global affairs to embrace isolationism.

Anybody else noticing with some alarm how #Russia appears to be winning on all fronts? Wining in the #ukraine, now bolstered with 10k #NorthKorean troops. Winning in its former #EasternEurope puppet states like #Romania #Moldova even independent-minded #Georgia. In the Balkans, #Serbia is clearly a #RussianAsset. And even in the EU, #Putin owns #Hungary and Orban. #RightWing Germans, justifiably upset at the economy and looming layoffs may soon be persuaded to look East.
