Three good things I'm grateful for:

1. The space to care for myself first thing in the morning. I put a heating pad on my back while I meditated, then followed it with ice. It felt nurturing and intentional.

2. The loving-kindness practice I did, starting with myself and then extending it to others. It truly filled me up with warmth and love.

3. Getting to spend time again with someone I really like. It feels good to enjoy our time together without depending on them for my happiness. I'm simply appreciating what we share.

"Gratitude triggers the happy hormones in the brain and fills us with feel-good vibes. When gratitude is forced or is bypassing pain it can compound feelings of failure and hopelessness.

The dark side of gratitude is that it sounds great and can be easily misused. Mind yourself, mind your heart, mind your emotions, they hold the key to the balance we all seek."

It is, momentarily, very nice at this spot. #gratitudelist
I am coming all over reflective. It has been a notable year. I made declarations at the start... Mastodon social media was one ... and for once in a long time, I can look back and feel OK. #gratitudelist you read this you are on it.

A very late #threegoodthings from yesterday.

1. My partner and I spent a lovely afternoon pottering together yesterday, enjoying each other’s company and easing into the Christmas spirit. Best thing about it was how well we communicated even in moments where one of us could have easily snapped we didn’t, we’ve been together a long time, but our communication has never been as good as it currently is.
2. We met lovely people on our travels, my partner isn’t naturally chatty but said he really enjoyed our little chats with random people along the way and is going to go out of his way to engage more with people.
3. After picking our tree at the Christmas tree farm and purchasing a couple of extra decorations we went home had a Chinese takeaway and decorated our lovely tree.

1 of 2 / I'm thankful for many things! My #PKM and #writing #GratitudeList includes being thankful for #ObsidianMD, #Tana, the fact I finished my first *real* #novel this year (there was a fake one, published by an Italian publisher, years ago), the #Tana and #ObsidianMD communities, people like @eleanorkonik, @Dramagirl, @mattjugo, @nickmilo, @AnthonyBaker, @evchapman, @nicole, the people working on #ObsidianMD and #Tana whose #Mastadon handles I don't know ... and ...
