Wenn euch das zu stark belastet, und das kann ich sehr gut verstehen, dann lest nicht weiter sondern sucht euch Katzen-Content auf Pixelfed etc. Das ist auf jeden Fall besser für die Seele.
Ausgelöst durch den schrecklichen Unfall Anfang 2026, wobei ein 12 jähriges Mädchen auf den Strassen Gelsenkirchens starb, habe ich mir die Frage gestellt: wie viele Ghostbikes (oder Geisterräder) gibt es eigentlich in Gelsenkirchen. Man sieht Sie ja durchaus wenn man sich im Stadtgebiet bewegt, aber zu meinem Erstaunen gab es auf diese Frage keine einfache Antwort.
Für alle diejenigen die nicht wissen was ein Ghostbike oder Geisterrad ist: dies sind weiß angemalte Fahrräder welche als Mahnmal an Orten aufgestellt werden wo Radfahrer im Straßenverkehr getötet wurden. Dazu gibt es auch einen entsprechenden Wikipedia Eintrag.
Es gibt auch ein spezielles Overlay (nennt man das so?) für Openstreetmap welches Ghostbikes anzeigt, aber für Gelsenkirchen war zum Zeitpunkt meiner Recherche nur eines darin vorhanden, und ich weiß ja das es mehr gibt.
Also habe ich verschiedene Nachrichtenseiten durchforstet, und auch mal LLM’s befragt. Denn zum aggregieren solcher Informationen sind die Teile nicht schlecht. Aber selbst diese konnten keine eindeutige Antwort liefern. Anscheinend gibt es, Stand 18.03.2026, fünf Ghostbikes in Gelsenkirchen. Da es keine zentrale Sammlung dazu gibt, erstelle ich diese hier halt selber und Pflege die Ghostbikes auch bei der Openstreetmap ein.
Falls jemand noch andere Ghostbikes im Gelsenkirchener Stadtgebiet kennt, dann schickt mir doch bitte eine Mail oder schreibt mich im Fediverse an, damit ich die Liste vervollständigen kann. Ich hoffe zwar das diese Liste durch zukünftige Ereignisse nicht weiter wächst, aber leider ist das wohl utopisch bei der Verkehrspolitik in der Stadt Gelsenkirchen. Beim aufstellen des Ghostbikes für das Anfang 2026 getötete Mädchen waren anscheinend keine Vertreter der Stadt mit dabei (Quelle: Die Linke). Ich glaube das muss ich nicht weiter kommentieren.
Für jedes Opfer werde ich ein Foto des Ghostbikes, Datum, den Unfallort, Alter, sowie den Unfallhergang aufschreiben (soweit mir die Daten zur Verfügung stehen). Dazu werde ich das ganze dann auch noch auf Openstreetmap verlinken.
Jede Privatperson oder gemeinnütziger Verein darf die Daten gerne kopieren, die Bilder nutzen, ich habe da kein Copyright darauf, ich möchte nur das die Opfer nicht vergessen werden, und dafür kann ein Backup nicht schaden.

Unfallhergang: geriet aus ungeklärten Umständen auf die Fahrbahn und ist mit einem LKW zusammengestoßen. Erlag seinen schweren Verletzungen am gleichen Tag im Krankenhaus.
