Side Track är mer än en bar – det är en trygg plats, en mötespunkt och ett stycke levande queer historia. Det är Sveriges äldsta gaybar. I 33 år har den överlevt båda de epidemier som plågat vårt community, bara för att slutligen falla offer för dem som inte värdesätter Stockholms queera kulturliv. En enda granne, som flyttade in i huset bara förra året, har drivit på Stockholms stad att i princip stänga ned Side Tracks uteservering. Samma granne är också anledningen till varför Side Track inte längre kan ha DJs och har tvingat verksamheten att bygga om köket för 300 000 kr. Nu vänder de blicken mot syskonverksamheten Halfway Inns uteservering, som också hotas med klagomål till Miljöförvaltningen. Det handlar inte bara om några rangliga bord på en uteservering. Det handlar om rätten för oss att få finnas, höras, och ta plats i det offentliga som vi har gjort här i decennier. Vi kräver att Trafikkontoret omprövar sitt beslut eller på annat vis verkar för att åter göra plats för queer gemenskap, kultur, och glädje på Side Tracks uteservering. Giving language to describe the many subtleties and intersections of gender, sexual, and romantic identities helps people better understand themselves and others.
To relegate that progress behind a + feels wrong to me, but the expanding alphabet soup challenges practical linguistic efficiency needs.

Bo MorganThanks @resl ! I just finished "Global Minotaur" by Yanis Varoufakis and it was an enlightening read.
I'm convinced we need a GSRM (Global Surplus Recycling Mechanism). I liked Yanis' conclusion that this will be most easily done by the USA.
While, it may be done by a coalition of countries that ignore the USA and "simulacra" of the Global Minotaur, i.e. Germany of Europe, and ignore China, which seems to be attempting to follow the footsteps of the Global Minotaur.
It's both depressing and inspiring that we may work for the USA being a part of the solution to creating a GSRM.

Christopher PhinIt’s time once again, folks, for my recurring rant about the phrase ‘my first bi experience’ and similar. OP always means their first _same-sex_ experience, but every experience you have as a bi person, _even the most heteronormative, conventional, Bible-friendly experience_, is a bi experience.
Calling sex with someone of the same gender as you ‘bi’, but sex with someone of a different gender some riff on ‘normal’ is… deeply icky. You’re doing bigots’ work for them.
