I go through phases of making necklaces, bracelets, pendants, etc., using only transparent and semi-opaque shades of red glass, combined with glass in amber and topaz. Fun with enamel and glass. I used clear glass for this necklace, rolling it in 3 colors of enamel while white-hot. For the pendant, I used purple and teal on one side, green on the other, against a white enamel background, leaving it in the torch just long enough to create a textured "orange peel" effect. This new necklace with a central pendant is not in my online shops, but I thought I'd share it anyway. It really is a hybrid of 2 styles I frequently use: raked trails of contrasting color, and a mix of broadly Southwestern colors, including reds, umbers, browns, and blues. This necklace evokes some of the colors of the Southwest generally, and New Mexico in particular. Several different colors of opaque glass used here, with a dark turquoise peeking through the earthy red, orange and yellow tones. I made the central pendant resemble a sort of talisman.
