I used a range of rich red and topaz shades, transparent and opaque, to make the beads. On a whim I turned the focal bead into a little humanoid figure. Miniature jugs, less than 1 inch that can be strung on cord to wear, with a bit of cotton inside and a drop of favorite essential oil or perfume. Based on examples from the 3rd-5th Centuries CE found across the Mediterranean, their purpose remains unclear: to hold water or soil from a sacred spring or pilgrimage site? Fun to make.
