This necklace evokes some of the colors of the Southwest generally, and New Mexico in particular. Several different colors of opaque glass used here, with a dark turquoise peeking through the earthy red, orange and yellow tones. I made the central pendant resemble a sort of talisman. Making blue things lately, perhaps because the weather is cooling (at least by southern New Mexico standards). I used transparent cobalt blue and emerald green glass to make the beads. With a few concessions to modernity, this is a copy of an ancient Roman glass bead necklace of the 2nd or early 3rd Century. It's long, at 21 inches.
