Iβm definitely going to enjoy some well earned π» at a family gathering this evening.
We finally got some nice weather on a Saturday that meant I could ride outside instead of spending 2 hours on the trainer. It was sunny, 50F(10C), and there was quite a bit of snowmelt that made a few areas wet. You could taste all of the road salt in the air.
The last time I was able to ride outdoors was November 15th, but Iβve been riding indoors ever since and there was 836 miles (1348 km) of indoor riding between then and now. Itβs just been so cold and snowy this winter plus, of course, darkness after work.
Donβt get me wrong, all of those indoor miles made todayβs outdoor ride a really good one. Iβm happy with how my training is coming along. After several weeks of weight training and strength-focused rides, the real endurance phase is kicking in.
First group ride of the year. Definitely made some sweat puddles.

Thereβs something motivating about having the next year of your cycling training planned out. Right now, itβs some recovery and bike maintenance. Shit gets real again in about a week and a half.
