In the past I've mentioned that my wife (of 40 years) suffers from Functional Neurological Disorder.... now in a meeting of two aspects of my private life, my friend's daughter (who is a GP & blogger) has written an excellent guide to FND for those unaware or only vaguely aware, of the condition (which I usually describe as a software problem not a hardware one).

Rob Rossi on Instagram: "Into Week 4 of my #functionalneurologicaldisorder flare. Here’s an update: 🔸 Speech is improving. 🔸 Arm tremor remains. I’ll be seeing a neurologist who specializes in movement disorders next week. 🔸 Screen time remains troublesome. But thanks to my FL41 lenses from @shadysideeyeassociates I have been able to spend very limited time on the computer working on my resume and LinkedIn profile. 🔸 MRI results were good. Doctors believe memory issues, which remain troublesome and scary, are due to frontotemporal dementia that won’t be permanent. 🔸 I’ve been able to get some temporary (as in an hour or so) relief from #FND symptoms by exercising at @f45_training_southhills and EMDR therapy session with Anneke Shuster. Also tried a restorative yoga session at @yogasix_southhills that helped a lot. 🔸 Fatigue continues to set in fast and requires lengthy “naps.” Binaural beats are my new BFF. 🔸 My parents have been amazing, and my extended family is super supportive. 🔸 Thanks to my friends who continue to check in with texts, calls, cards, and messages. I’ll try to get back to everyone. It’s just I only have so many spoons at the moment. 🔸 Shoutout to Dana Kirkpatrick at @calm_pittsburgh for helping me navigate a lot of the medical paperwork. And the same goes for @cmusuneggi & @cpmusuneggi for… well, I don’t know what I’d do without their multifaceted help. 🔸 Medical team is adjusting meds and altering treatments. They think we caught this early-ish. So now let’s hope the #migraine attacks continue to slow. With gratitude, Rossi 🧡💜 PS Ajax and Glowbug are giving me all the cuddles 🐈‍⬛🐈"
