They've also repealed restrictions that previously governed Personal Information Banks. Government and municipal institutions no longer have to disclose the existence of personal information banks, and no longer have to make the information contained inside retrievable.
While everyone's been focused on #DougFord exempting his cell phone and other government records from #FOI requests, he also removed oversight by the Information and Privacy Commissioner of his government's data integration practices. Data Integration allows the government to share personal and health information across departments. Previously the Commissioner had approve and oversee data integration. Now, she can't.

What follows isn’t aimed at you but at Canadian #highered: how do we ask students to build publicly available learning tools/exhibitions while complying w FIPPA’s rules requiring use of #Canada-based servers? I fully support #FIPPA, to be clear, particularly given ongoing events south of the border, but using only a LMS for student work forces us into walled gardens that frames all student work as a performance for credit.
