I find myself always searching for the SlimSocial (my Facebook Wrapper app) on my mobile and entering fb.com in my browser on my laptop....

@MovingFurniture I think #Friendica seems to be the most promising #FBalternative in #Fediverse. It has functions like events and groups, and not sign-limited.
It doesn't have a good app, but if you set up an account on Friendicia.world and log-in, the webreader works well for mobile use and you can make an "app-shortcut".
And yeah, you can still have contact with everone here, from there, but with the limits of each platform.

Well I did it - I put up the "I'm out" post on FB, and deleted the apps. I'm keeping my accounts for the contacts and so people can find me elsewhere, and because identity hijacking is always a concern, but I'm done with posting. I'm expecting it'll be a while before anyone actually sees the post, thanks to the algorithm, if it doesn't just suppress posts like this entirely.
2020 war Twitter mit dem #twlz einer der Orte, an denen ich die meisten Impulse und Ideen erhalten habe. Spätestens seit dem Verkauf ist dieser Ort ein anderer - seitdem bin ich auf Mastodon unterwegs und habe meinen #Xit vollzogen. No regrets.
FB war vor 10-15 Jahren für mich relevant. Seit Jahren nutze ich es kaum noch. Da ich nicht Teil dieser demokratieverachtenden Plattform sein möchte, habe ich auch den #FBexit vollzogen. Insta wird folgen.
Aktuell bin ich noch auf Bluesky unterwegs /1
Twitter vor 2 Jahren schon, Threads und Insta letzte Woche und WhatApp heute gelöscht. Facebook wird noch vor der Inauguration gelöscht.
Bin gerade irgendwo zwischen Leere und Erleichterung. Aber fühlt sich verdammt richtig und gut an.

@ianhillmedia I feel like #Facebook is ready to collapse under it's own weight, and all we need is a reasonable substitute. It'll cave in just like #Blockbuster did under #Netlix. Or just like #MySpace did under Facebook. I just don't know if #Mastodon is the thing, and I haven't looked at the #Fediverse at large enough to know if there's something there to do it.
