In reasons to #DeleteFacebook: email just came in about a "privacy update." Basically, they're using your interactions to train #AISlop. (I can't quite delete mine due to library's page for outreach-- *sigh*)
AndrewRI deleted #Facebook nearly two years ago for the reasons in this ABC article: no control over what I saw and a completely cooked algorithm.
I did try deleting and recreating my account in 2023, and the suggested content on the new account was almost disturbing. Mostly right wing propaganda and soft porn. I deleted my account shortly thereafter.
It hasn't been perfect, especially with most of my contacts frequenting Messenger, but I also can't say I would go back to it.
