The fear of some AI running amok and exterminating humans is real. It's already happening.

Only the AIs doing it are not what you think they are; it's the Old Slow AIs that are killing us. We call them Oil Companies.

(Actually it's all of the fossil-fuel industrial complex, but "Oil Companies" sounds pithier. And I'm good at taking the pith.)

despite already having court ruling against excessive police violence in Extinction Rebellion protests, yesterday 28.5.2024 it happened again and the protest was forced to end early in order to protect protesters from the police.

law says police is there to protect the protesters and their right to protest, but as we know reality is very different. #acab #finland #policeViolence #ExtinctionRebelion #peacefulProtest

court has ruled in favour of extinction rebels in a case where police force recklessly assaulted the protesters. for example, pepper spray was sprayed directly on peaceful protesters faces, while protesters sat in the demonstration.

“Even in Kampot province, which sits next to Kep, development has posed a challenge to implementing an MFMA, with the boundaries repeatedly being redrawn due to ongoing land reclamation projects. Meanwhile, in Kep, the island of Koh Tonsay – the largest in the MFMA that MCC helped to establish – has been awarded to Try Pheap, a powerful tycoon who was sanctioned by the U.S. Treasury Department for his involvement in Cambodia’s illegal timber trade.”

Aktivisten von Extinction Rebellion blockierten den Eingang zum Internationale Strafgerichtshof in Den Haag und riefen Parolen gegen Israels Premierminister Netanjahu. Sie bezeichneten ihn u.a. als „Kriegsverbrecher.“

Der niederländische Zweig der Aktivistengruppe hatte bereits mehrere „pro-palästinensische Aktionen“ durchgeführt, seit dem die Hamas in Israel rund 1.400 Menschen getötet hatte.
