By 2024, the topic of internationalisation gained momentum. The EOSC Association and NFDI have strengthened their connection and the #EOSCxNFDI event was held in Berlin. Almost 40 % of the participants came from other European countries. The exchange between various European players was particularly relevant in the context of setting up #EOSC nodes.

Open Data goes Europe! 💪

Last week, the #EOSCxNFDI event marked an important milestone in #international #networking. The basic theme of the event was "NFDI goes EOSC". EOSC is the EU-funded European Open Science Cloud.

At the World Cafe event, 2 tables were moderated by Jochen Ortmeyer and Oliver Koepler, our #Edutrain and #Metadata section representatives. Our speakers Christoph Steinbeck and Steffen Neumann were also present and took part in the discussion.

Yesterday's day 1 of #EOSCxNFDI was fantastic! ✨

In addition to exciting Lightening Talks on the topic ‘Intersection of the #NFDI and #EOSC thematic communities’, the evening event at the State Representation Schleswig-Holstein was a highlight. During the panel discussion, everyone agreed on what is needed to make #research data #FAIR:

🔹 a cultural change in #science
🔹 more education and training on research data management #rdm topics
🔹 new job profiles such as data stewards
