Before the pandemic, #DunDraCon wasn't much for historical boardgames. That has changed. This year, the following titles were played by full or nearly full tables:
* Fire In The Lake
* A Distant Plain
* Napoleonic Wars
* Time of Crisis
* Here I Stand (!)
* Seikagahara
I also managed to get a game of 1849 in, and saw someone advertising for players for 1889. So #18xx got a little love as well, as did SpaceCorp and Star Fleet Battles.
Very happy developments.
We have a #TravellerRPG campaign at #DunDraCon since about 2017. It's the Loren Wiseman Memorial Pickup Traveller Campaign. The last few years, it's been just about the only face-to-face, tabletop, meatspace #RPG session I get to do.
Online RPG play just...does...not...compare. Sitting around an actual table with actual human friends, physical dice, actual snacks, minis, maps, digressions...that is the BEST. I miss being able to do that every week. #analoggaming
What do you do when your favorite #boardgame gets so many cool expansions that it becomes unwieldy? With sleeves, my Cosmic Encounter set is now about 15 lbs., barely fitting into the core box + Cosmic Odyssey box. That's down from 17, after I removed a few homebrew variant decks.
It'll be interesting to manage this at #DunDraCon this weekend.
Hey, TTRPGers, who on here will be at DunDraCon in a couple of weeks?
