#DomesticatedAnimals have distinct personalities similar to how people are. It's true though, that specific breeds have certain inherent traits such as herding dogs wanting to herd whatever/whoever is nearby!

IMO: our pets, especially cats/dogs ~ tend to take on the general vibe of the household they live in. So, for example ~ if the home is on the hectic side, They may be more anxious or unpredictable in Their behavior.
