🇨🇳 Un poco en relación con el primer toot de hoy, estos días, en la prensa #china, se ha repetido un término, #灭顶之灾 (mièdǐng zhīzāi), que viene a significar algo como "desastre fatal" y es que una localidad al suroeste de #Pekín llamada #Zhuozhou (#涿州市), de unos 600.000 habitantes, ha estado cerca de ser arrasada por las inundaciones que ha sufrido la región al paso del tifón #Doksuri.

@NatureMC @pvonhellermannn Another reason for the severe #flood is #Supertyphoon #Doksuri strengthened the #SouthwestMonsoon (we call it #Habagat) which is wet air almost exactly on the #FullMoon when #tide is highest then immediately followed by #Khanun. It was #SevereRains for a week. The flood is indeed higher this time, we have to evacuate to the second floor of our house. The irony is, before the #typhoon, our problem was #watershortage due to the #ElNiño. #HighTide #Philippines

"#Doksuri made landfall Friday in the Chinese province of Fujian, located roughly 1,000 miles (1,609 km) south of Beijing, and lost wind intensity over the weekend as it pushed inland. However, the tropical moisture fueled extreme rain across the country for days.

"More than 80,000 people were relocated due to flooding in Beijing, where 29.3 inches (744.8 mm) of rain fell between Saturday and Wednesday, the heaviest rain in the city in at least 140 years, The Associated Press said. It is unclear how many people are still trapped due to the widespread flooding."
