Doch setzt sich im Laufe der Woche zunehmend ein Hochdruckgebiet über Mitteleuropa durch und dominiert das Wetter kurz vor Pfingsten mit aufgelockerter Bewölkung und einer zunehmenden Sonnenscheindauer, was die Temperaturen in den sommerlichen Bereich drängt. Über Pfingsten setzt sich das Hochdruckgebiet dann über ganz Deutschland, Österreich und der Schweiz durch, was vielerorts eine maximal mögliche Sonnenscheindauer, ungehemmten Sonnenschein und ungewöhnlich hohe Temperaturen zur Folge hat, was regional den ersten Hochsommertag des Jahres möglich machen kann.
