Oh, cool! Telev78 just shared a working 5.25 inch disk image of the original TETRIS by MirrorSoft. Back in 1987, EGA was the fanciest available graphics mode on the IBM-PC! Hell yeah! Interestingly, this European release was slightly different from the Spectrum Holobyte version. Comparing them side by side using 86Box.

Ist zwar nur ein bisschen Shareware für Windows 3.1 oder DOS, aber diese „Playware“-Serie von BHV war für uns als Kids der coole Shit. Die wurden nämlich irgendwann um 1994 oft für ganz kleines Geld, also Taschengeld-kompatibel, im Mediamarkt verramscht. Das kann man sogar auch auf dem Foto sehen. UVP 14,90DM, aber rausgeworfen für 2,99 Mark!
Diese drei hier kamen vorhin per Post und ich konnte die Disks bereits alle erfolgreich auslesen. 😜
Was ist nicht 3,5" groß und wiegt 31kg?

Today, I spent some time playing an old PC game called WELLTRIS. I guess, this was supposed to be a successor to the game TETRIS. It's from 1989 and was presented on 2 x 360K 5.25inch floppy disks. It still works perfectly. Screenshots were made using the beautiful EGA graphics mode. 😍
