Tasty Times So Far in Hong Kong

A few quick pics from our first half-day in Hong Kong, spent mostly eating, thank you very much.

Depicted: a cup of noodles in the Korean Air lounge in Seoul; a piping hot bowl of chicken pho with hand-pulled noodles from Co Thanh in Hong Kong; Clyde with sausage skewers and tasty summer rolls, also from Co Thanh; the baked barbecue pork sweet buns that helped win Tim Ho Wan a Michelin star; THW crispy shrimp red rice rolls with roselle sauce; steamed shrimp dumplings (freshly made, with wonton wrappers as soft as a whisper).

A good first day in Hong Kong.

I don’t get out much because of #SEID ( #mecfs ), especially in winter, so today I went to Chinatown for a #dimsum #lunch after my doctor’s appointment. 😋 #food #Toronto

Stepped out for #dimsum lunch today. Such a treat to have a good spot nearby, especially given that a couple of long-running locations didn't make it through the COVID shutdowns.

Real comfort food, that. And being within walking distance makes it all the more luxurious.

One thing Elisabeth and I enjoyed immensely while living in Cali in ‘23/‘24 was having Dim Sum almost every Sunday morning in Mountain View after we’d visit the amazing farmer’s market.

Back home in Va, I started testing recipes and settled on a core set that have enabled us to continue our Sunday tradition at home. Entirely homemade Lo Mai Gai (with Char Siu), Siu Mai, Har Gow and Chili Oil are the current roster. I make batches and freeze them to last a few weekends in a row. #dimsum #food

#DimSum today at Dumpling King on Clement in San Francisco with @[email protected]! Delicious! The panda balls were my favorite, filled with a sweet custard cream. It was only 30 minutes away, plus 10 minutes to find parking. Need to do this more often.
