Deep Bay on Vancouver Island this morning.

I went out to photograph today's storm and hopefully some wildlife. I saw black oystercatchers, mergansers and what I thought was a flock of Western sandpipers but they were in fact adult non-breeding black-bellied plover (Pluvialis squatarola).

Footage and photos taken today will be added to a video I'm working on.

About ten minutes previous to this capture, the fog was rolling out and then it rolled back in with amazing quickness. This sunrise had a mystical, magical feel with the sun trying to peek through the "cloud on the ground." It was a very peaceful and serene start to the day on Deep Bay Georgian Bay Ontario Canada.
