- Cuz it's a worse idea than the #StraddlingBus aka. #TransitElevatedBus.
And that is already worse than #Monorail|s.
- Granted, #SkyTrain-Style #OverheadMonorails do make sense in edge-cases where #Tram, #Metro and #Bus ain't an option...
The problem is rather that these ain't at surface level, and that verticality makes it less accessible to use, so only in few cases they are a good option and oftentimes #CableCars would be way better - espechally the modern ones that decouple #Cabins aka. "#Pods" from the wire and let people board at a standstill without interrupting the flow.
Kinda like an Aerial Ropeway makes sense in guaranteed asymetric load scenarios and having "load swap" systems to reverse the direction would not work unless they are more efficient than electric powered cablecars...
