all of us over here who enjoy diversity might be out here having block parties with the mexicans and the queers and the black people... getting pupusas and bbq and boba tea from food trucks... and the 1 right winger on the street (the one who thinks that "no one wants to live next to someone who's different than them") is gonna be huddled in their house, terrified about the "disorder", calling the cops.

i mean, in oakland, this is literally what happens (ESPECIALLY when it's a group of black people. some of these white oaklanders are TERRIFIED of groups of black people having fun).

sometimes i'm like...you know y'all can *also* come hang out, right? like, you can join the block party... but they don't wanna, do they?

and that's one of the many reasons we can't have nice things.

"Why did three mule deer just cross Route 97 in Siskiyou County? The answer: California has built a new $20 million overpass dedicated for wildlife.
"The deer, caught on a trail camera in late May, are the first confirmed animals to travel the #wildlife overcrossing, which Caltrans is slated to complete by the fall. A bobcat may have padded across the unfinished project in January, but the footage of the passage wasn't definitive."
