It's clear that this advocacy organization is caving.

It's time to up my activist game, but I could do with a few more resources! Who are the cool folks who aren't willing to throw marginalized communities under the bus?

I just discovered that The Lupus Foundation has removed all podcasts that could be construed as DEI. I went to share the episode on Lupus in the LGBTQ community and it was no longer there.

Also gone is the episode on The Impact of Racial Trauma on Mental Health and two others, one that explored the importance of diversity and research, and the other looking at implicit bias in the medical field.

So I've been protest taking extra DEI training just bc I'm kind of a contrary bish. And I think I do mostly good but I've tried to find things that I do that I think are harmful so I can change them. My big ones:

Insults based on things ppl can't control. Okay so I absolutely did use stuffs like "small dick energy" to insult boys and rly, that's not cool. Whatever level of shitty they are, that's not a fair attack. So I swapped to insults around stuffs ppl can control.

Gendered language. I mean I just use if without thinking and its probs fine mostly but I don't rly need "you guys" and stuffs. I mean I use it gender neutral but some ppl who struggled to be recognized might feel invalidated? So that's going in the bin.

Anyway, my continued support of DEI no matter what some idiots say.
