Oh, she tries to be dignified and disinterested these days, she really does. But a flick or two and suddenly it's all wild pouncing and flailing paws of her halcyon days.

I’d argue it is going splendidly. You got to spend 20+ years traveling and doing something you love and believe in (obvious headaches of being employed aside). There’s not a lot of people that can say that - at all.
When I was younger (late teens / early 20s) I could have made a lot of decisions differently, and been in a much better financial position today moving towards retirement (in another 20+ years lol). Instead I got to see most of the country, hang out with some killer musicians and good people, go cliff diving, race cars on tracks that should never have been certified, and a whole lot of other things. Would life be easier now if I hadn’t? Maybe - but I did those things, and it’s a blessing to have that perspective and those lessons.
You’re in a valley - and they always look darker the longer you’re in it. But it’s not forever, and nothing that you described is a negative.

Yep. It’s a lot. Been cycling through anger, sadness, and nausea every day. Hoping our local #Indivisible meeting on Sunday will provide some sort of relief/direction. We’ll see.
It can be...but I'd rather be alive with a chance at heaven then dead with no chance for anything.
