Hinreichend kurzweilige Popcornunterhaltung. 6,5/10
OK, I really enjoyed season 1 of the BBC's "Central Intelligence". It's a stunning catalog of hubris, arrogance, and incompetence that makes you wonder how they got away with any of it. Roll on season 2 next year. #CentralIntelligence #BBCSounds https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/m00238rn?partner=uk.co.bbc&origin=share-mobile

Guatemala, Marxist pamphlets, engineering a popular uprising…

BBC

When we settle down to watch a film together we generally take turns to decide which film to watch which means that, sometimes, we end up watching a film that one or more of us has already seen. Not all of these films are good enough to watch again, and some of them weren’t worth watching in the first place.

Robin Hood

… in which Not Kevin Costner and Not Morgan Freeman come together to defeat Not Alan Rickman.

There seem to be an endless stream of remakes and re-imaginings of the Robin Hood story, but this 2018 film feels particularly derivative and remarkably pointless.

65

I have the impression that the makers of 65 couldn’t decide whether they wanted to make a monster movie or a drama about loss and redemption. The result is a remarkably predictable action film that constantly veers off into triteness.

Bloodshot

The people behind Bloodshot, on the other hand, knew exactly what they were trying to achieve. The film has no pretensions beyond being a comic-book action film with a rather obvious twist.

It’s all well executed, though, and with the current tendency of both Marvel and DC to inflict ever expanding franchises on us, a standalone superhero film feels somewhat refreshing.

Central Intelligence

In Central Intelligence, Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart deliver a surprisingly good buddy comedy. The plot is a bit overdone, but the two leads have enough charisma between them to overcome the problems and keep everything moving at a very entertaining pace.
