It’s here! The Captain Kronos: Vampire Hunter restoration Blu-ray set from Hammer Films has arrived. I’ve seen the unboxing videos going around so I know per much what I’m getting.
The Classic Doctor Who remasters on Blu-ray are my guide to what is a good release in terms of picture quality and extras. And from what I’ve seen this from Hammer is right up there.
Since Hammer was bought by John Gore, the company has said it intends to release restored and remastered versions of all its films. Oooh!
Even the cardboard box it was sent in had the Kronos logo and a quote from Professor Grist, wonderfully played by John Cater.
I bought the limited edition poster too. Cos it looks fantastic.

Absolutely delightful, funny, marvelously inventive film that was intended to kick off a series. Unfortunately, the filmgoing public of the time didn't love it as much as I do and that never happened.
Highly recommended to anyone who enjoys visually inventive horror comedies.
