#CUPE have bought a tentative deal to the members to vote on. It seems like the gov have decided that most of the membership wanted to vote on last weeks deal - ie No to everything but here's $1/hour extra each year.
I'll wait for proper info from my local, but right now I'm leaning towards a no vote.
We desperately need more staff! And from a #library point of view, my elementary colleagues need more hours and to not be spread across multiple schools.

Today at 5pm I’ll find out if I’m walking a picket line tomorrow. #CUPE have been at the table negotiating.
Our so-called MOE has been screeching at social media about how we are shutting down the schools.
Funny that. Our positions are so important that schools shut if we aren’t there. Maybe just give us more funding to hire more of us. Give us more funding so we have more hours.

On Monday I will be back on the line if the Ontario Gov can’t come up with a fair deal.
This isn’t just about wages. We need real investment in education to increase the services #CUPE Education Workers offer.
The Ford Gov doesn’t want to invest. They think if they finally throw a flat rate we’ll cave. But we know we need funding for actual jobs. We don’t have enough of anyone!

Now we hope the Ford Government actually starts bargaining in good faith. Because as the rest of the unions said, we’ve not stood down, we are standing by!
